I’m still in awe of the beautiful docks, oceans and beaches within driving distance of me. Perks of living on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
This is a shot of the big ol’ rusty ship that’s been docked at the Bridgewater shipyard for like forever (? who knows ?)
It took a little playing around with the levels of the raw file of this one to pull the grey out, but I really like the finished product. I can’t wait until the trees come back to life and the sun comes out again!
Day two still going strong!
Unfortunately today was very rainy, dreary and grey – so all the landscape shots I got ended up looking a little dead and drained of colour. Luckily I had a pretty helper with me on my photo-taking adventure, so she gets to be the star of today’s picture!
This is Freya, my boyfriend’s pup. She’s a husky-german shepherd mix who just turned 1 last month. She’s a cutie isn’t she?
Welcome to my blog!
I’m a hobby photographer who lost a bit of her passion for the art when the stress and busy schedule of university kicked in, but that changes today! Today I wrote my final exam of my second year of university, so my summer has official begun. This doesn’t exactly mean that my busy schedule will subside though, because I’m starting a co-op job as a Marketing and PR Assistant on Monday. However, I think my more set work schedule will be far less stressful then papers, assignments and exams.
My goal for this blog is to post one stand alone photo every week day of the summer. Sometimes I’ll just post the photo with a quick caption, sometimes I might write a little post about what’s happening in the photo or what inspired me to capture that moment. My hope is this will motivate me to get back into photography, and even more importantly start capturing the beautiful moments happening around me – I so miss that.
This is a old shot I captured last summer at Peggy’s Cove. I have no idea who this man is, and my friends I’m sure thought I was a total creep for stopping and taking this photo of this stranger and his dog – but it was just too cute of a moment to pass up.
Stay tuned for more of my photography adventure!
